BigGods breeze past INTZ in ESEA Open Season 23 Brazil's Grand final 2-0 (16-7 de_cache and 16-6 de_nuke), claiming a spot at the Mountain Dew League Global Challenge LAN Finals in January 2017.
The single-elimination playoffs consisted of seven Brazilian teams and one Chilean team, whilst three of the Argentinian teams failed to make it up to this stage. Bruno "BIT" Fukuda Lima's g3x were the only team to remain undefeated against sixteen different oppositions in the online group stage, before advancing to the playoffs.
A repetitive occurrence of forfeits in ESEA also happened in Brazil, with Alpha Pro not making appearance, meaning g3x was able to seize a free spot in the semi-finals. TShow and INTZ rolled over Operation Kino and the Chilean team, Zeta Strike respectively 2-0, grabbing hold of two available spots in the semi-final stage.
The last semi-final position was taken by BigGods, which went to all three maps versus TeamOne. Felipe "delboNi" Delboni aided his team for a successful 2-1 comeback after losing the first map.
tifa's BigGods secure an international trip
Despite the valiant efforts of BIT to keep g3x in the game, it did not prevent the inevitable to happen as BigGods ended their formidable streak, by cruising past them in two maps. In the other semi-final, Filipe "fp1" Caires played out of his mind for INTZ to complete the reverse sweep from one map behind.
BigGods had no trouble preventing INTZ from reaching double digits in either maps, with the whole team having a positive kill-death ratio against Thiago "cryo" Amorim's side. However, it was Denis "dzt" Fischer who was a pain for the opposition to handle throughout the 2-0 series.
